PIPE-WORKS
Explorations, sketches, and field tests.
Pipe-Works is a collection of tools that accidentally learned how to tell stories. Built to solve very practical problems—naming things, mapping places, tracking what changed and why—it quickly became clear that even the smallest systems carry narrative pressure. A syllable suggests a history. A room implies a decision. A ledger remembers longer than people do. Pipe-Works doesn’t care what world you build with it (we happen to use it for Ledgerfall), only that the systems remain inspectable, deterministic, and slightly mischievous. Explore freely, borrow shamelessly, break things gently. Everything here is a tool. Everything, inevitably, becomes a story.
REQUEST A TEMPORARY PERSONHOOD PERMIT
The city does not allow strangers to drift unattended. If you wish to walk its rooms, speak in its taverns, or accidentally offend a goblin, you must be issued a temporary personhood.
All permits dissolve after 24 hours. Ledgerfall remembers — but it does not keep you.
Procedure (Strictly Deterministic, Mildly Ceremonial)
- Mint a Name — Every visitor requires a designation the city can pronounce.
- Forge a Key — A one-time password is struck and assigned.
- Declare Presence — Name and key are presented at the door.
⟡ Stage I — Awaiting designation.
⟡ Stage II — Awaiting key forging.
⟡ Stage III — Awaiting declaration.
Ready to issue a visitor account.

Goblin Notice: This is not account creation. It is the controlled issuance of temporary narrative agency.
